In 2006, it started with a dance and a promise. A young student, inspired by the joy and energy of Brazilian dancers — especially her friend Natalia, who danced barefoot and smiled like the sun — imagined a world where art could equalize, not divide. That spark lit the path for what would become United We Dance.
“I wanted Brazilian kids to dance on the canvas… They don’t have to wear white shoes. I like them. That’s my life.”
What began as a personal university project under the name SaltoErgoSum quickly evolved. Rebranded and reshaped into United We Dance, the initiative grew into a social movement — using performance and visual art to connect people across cultures, backgrounds, and economic divides.
United We Dance stands for:
Art transcends language and identity. Whether you are a barefoot dancer in Brazil or a stock market trader in New York, art belongs to all of us. It breaks down barriers and connects us in ways nothing else can.
Today, United We Dance creates powerful artistic performances that fund social impact. Every artwork is tied to a local NGO, empowering real communities and providing meaningful returns. From Bali to Bradford, our steps leave a trace — and our art gives back.
We support all 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our creative projects, partnerships, and global collaborations. Art has the power to touch every goal — from reducing poverty to promoting well-being, equality, education, and peace.
United We Dance is evolving. In the future, we aim to collaborate with athletes, animals, celebrities, and everyday people to create art. Whether it’s a dance at a festival or a paw print on canvas, our mission remains the same — make creativity a tool for connection and change.
Companies around the world now invite United We Dance to lead team-building experiences that use art and dance as a path to deeper connection. Employees dance barefoot on large canvases, creating one unified artwork together. These sessions promote inclusion, unity, happiness, and self-expression — all guided by professional art therapists.
The real strength of United We Dance lies in the conversations, the collaborators, and the community that keep this dream alive. What began as one young woman’s vision has become a global network of change-makers, using creativity to shift culture and bring hope where it’s needed most.
To artists. To dreamers. To anyone who believes movement, color, and shared expression can transform lives. We invite you to take part — through art, through action, through belief in something bigger.
Art transforms into a currency for change, enabling all participants to generate value, providing substantial ROI while enriching those involved. By transcending traditional boundaries, we inspire everyone to take action while opening channels to monetize art and drive change.
Art is a catalyst for social change and turns our initiative into an artistic space where creativity becomes a translucent force for good in an impactful and unprecedented way.
As matchmakers of art and social impact stories, we spark participation while capturing the essence of art that translates into tangible benefits for communities in need.
How It All Started: The seed for UnitedWeDance was planted when its founder, inspired by the transformative power of art and community, envisioned a unique way to blend dance with visual art. She saw the potential for dance movements to create impactful canvases that could both captivate viewers and support global initiatives. This vision gave birth to UnitedWeDance, an organization that harnesses the beauty of dance and movements to paint stories on canvas, channeling proceeds to uplift communities all around the globe.
Each artwork is a collaborative effort involving dancers, musicians, athletes, and sometimes animals. These dynamic creations are captured on canvas, photographic prints, and animated videos. At exhibitions, we aim to share our vision through art and a unique experience where you can capture the full essence of how art can translate into tangible benefits for communities in need. This is more than an art collection; it’s a step forward in becoming part of a global movement, supporting causes that resonate with your values and contribute to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Join us in making a difference, one “footstep” at a time.
The project provides a series of limited-edition art prints resulting in the original canvas artwork from various epic dances. Each printed artwork was created by capturing the footage of our dancer’s steps and movements and later edited in post-production, showing 60 dynamic movements, all through a camera attached to a crane.
The art prints begin with a blank or base-colored canvas in the top left frame, followed by the dancer’s emergence. As the performance unfolds, the dancer’s movements are captured on the canvas, culminating in the final frame on the bottom right, showcasing the completed painting. Each art print features 60 frames, available in sets of 2, 3, 4, or 5, totaling 120, 180, 240, and 300 frames, respectively. These prints beautifully document the choreography and the dedication, skill, and passion behind the artwork’s creation.
Through our partnerships we foster advancement in various areas of life and geographical locations. Every sale contributes to chosen initiatives and organisations to support sustainable development, promote social equity, and create positive change worldwide.
